As a member of the Federal House of Representatives, his legislative activities center around enhancing the health, welfare and living conditions of the common people; this has been the background which has framed the motions and bills he has sponsored which are currently at various legislative stages. Furthermore, his versatility on topical issues makes him a major contributor on the floor of the house. 

Hon. Sergius Ogun is in his second term as a member of the Federal House of Representatives and is presently a member of House committee on: Army, Anti-Corruption, Capital Market & Institutions, Emergency and Disaster Preparedness, Federal Character, Gas Resources, Petroleum Resources (Downstream), Agricultural Production & Services, Local Content and Public Service Matters.

He has attracted over sixty development projects to various towns and communities within Esan North East/Esan South East Federal Constituency. These projects includes construction of several roads, rehabilitation/building of classrooms, primary healthcare centres, provision of Solar street lights etc.
